Snapshot No. 705-709
709. Tugumi
It has become the season we see
tugumi feeding on the ground.
Probably because of the scarcity of tree berries, they are there all day long feeding on the earthworms, insect larvae beneath the turf.
Soon they are to fly back to Siberia again.
708. Coming soon

A
Kawazu-zakura along the bicycle road.
Some bloom already.
707. An addiction?

At the usual bikepath after a while.
Pedalling feeling the vast expanse of space is fun definitely.
There is no denial to call this a kind of addiction.

On the way home after leaving the bicycle lane, a coffee break at the outdoor table is also a good time.
706. Ducks
Wild ducks,
karu-gamo, seen at a nearyby brook.
A person who is prone to be easily deceived is referred to as "
kamo" (duck) here. But these ducks do not look so absent-minded.
While the deceiving act is called
sagi (heron) as in the word
sagi-si (a fraudster). So it is an amusing combination that the bird
kamo is deceived by another bird
sagi. However, this
sagi is said to be from the
usagi (hare/rabbit) of the folk tale, "
Inaba no siro-usagi"
#, (a white-hare of Inaba) which crossed the sea by deceiving sharks.
# Inaba no siro-usagi:
For instance, try
this one.
705. A cicada's shell at the yearend

Rose leaves are getting withered at my place.
The photo shows a cicada's shell still clinging to the rose leaf.

The right is its close-up.
As some have an aversion to this type of stuff, the size is intentionally reduced.
Those who are OK can click it as usual.
